rather argue about precise definitions than to address the issue.

He wants to score points since he can't make any.

Unless the candidate is a member and officer of the ACP, he's not a communist. Unless he has a hammer and cycle tatooed on his forehead, he's not a communist.

Like the democrats who spout socialist rhetoric all day in all of their speeches but are not a card carrying member of the socialist party aren't actually socialists.
