world that the elite have been pillaging for centuries, but that is intentional. Adam Smith called it the vile maxim, the masters of mankind, “all for ourselves, nothing for other people”. This is why corporatists have been attacking American labor through offshoring, smashing of labor unions.
It’s why the people have nothing more than an illusion of say in the government. Feel good voting, while the government and politicians are owned by the elite. As John Jay put it “the country should be governed by those who own it”.
The problem with the western elite is the rise of China and lack of control over Russia. There is a new competitor for global influence. One who can back regimes in opposition to western foreign and economic policy.
The struggle now is keeping China and Russia in a box.
