He makes threats to both sides to get them to an agreement.

He tells Zelensky, you are getting your ass kicked..make a deal

He tell Putin, we will kick your ass if you do not get a deal.

After Trump kicked Zelensky around publicly, Zelensky chummed up to Trump with the mineral rights deal. Putin has not budged.

Now Trump is scrambling to figure out his next step.
