we have in Missouri with lots of floods I don't recall anything like that, probably it has happened and I just don't know about it, but around St. Louis it is mostly creeks that flashflood which can cause problems but not the rivers that just sweep people away with no warning. I mean the rivers get dangerous but usually there is enough warning to get out unless you are stuborn.
