asking about whether or not they have seen a dramatic reduction in fentanyl since Trump's election and the border being shut down. They said there has been such a reduction it's almost hard to believe.
then they told me a story about a case that started in KC with a drug dealer who saw someone breaking into his car so, being a drug dealer, he runs outside and begins shooting at the would be car thief.
he happened to have a bag with a couple kilos of cocaine on him and the police got there too quickly so he set the bag down by the curb and fled on foot.
Officers recover the dope and shell casings. get DNA and fingerprints off the kilos of coke. trace it back to this drug dealer.
they get up on a wire on the drug dealer and find that he's going to Arizona every couple months and bringing but car loads of coke and fentanyl. so hundreds of pounds.
they start building a case on him and picking off the odd associate of his here and there.
Trump gets elected. Border gets shut down. they are still up on the wire and he goes to Arizona 3x and can't get resupplied. they have him on the wire with cartel members basically telling him they can't get product across the border now.
they drug dealer has since been indicted on what they already had on him but they didn't get him with 100's of pounds which had been his norm.
