defense today, with the offensive technology, is a hopeless cause. Seriously. Spending billions in the hopes of knocking down whatever won't work and is mostly wasted money, unless maybe a nuke is sent over but presumably that would be suicidal and I don't see it likely.
We're also wasting money IMO on army manpower. We still station troops in places which make NO sense, for the money and personnel cost involved, such as Japan, So. Korea, etc. They can take care of themselves on their own and if not then tough for them.
