They clearly set a price where they could absorb a 50% tax (part of why their profit margin was huge) - if there was no trump tax in play, you could have received a better price (unless you're a complete nincompoop.)

From your edit, it sounds like they really forked you over 2 years ago, and you're still taking it up the shorts if you allowed them to build in a 50% tax.
