To bring democracy (&/or peace, prosperity, modernization) to the Middle East or to a particular country is too broad and vague.

To stop Iran from being able to produce nuclear weapons may be too narrowly defined... for how long? ... would that stop them from getting nuclear weapons or other weapons of mass destruction from elsewhere, even if only on a scale of being able to carry out terrorist operations?

Regime change? Then what? That hasn't been a grand success in Iraq, or Syria. What is the international law regarding countries taking it upon themselves to bring about regime change in countries they don't like, or against rulers they don't like?
