is a good idea or not also has to do with the various risk & expenses both economically, militarily and on a human level. Lose and it would be catastrophic. Even a "win" could be catastrophic in some situations.

We've already spent a fortune in Ukraine and the Deep State goals of bogging down Russia, weakening them and getting regime change and potentially breaking them up have not worked out well for those who thought provoking them would be a good idea.

Things often don't go according to plans.
