The literature of the time. The purpose of the story. Tell me a story that you think was made up, you can say embellished as well. I have several but they could have been true. Samson and Delilah is one ( a story that says that trust in God and even though you have been caught in betrayal, God will use you Also a sacrifice for the nation. Jonah and the whale Although it is certainly possible for a whale shark or a fish to swallow a man. It is the story itself. Unless it occured 3 to 4 thousand BC. The amount of the Israelites that left Egypt and the time frame that it happened. This has already been accounted for. None in the New Testament that i can think of.
