And two huge batteries.

I love the security it brings me from the unreliable grid. I am of no illusion that it saves me money. I once calculated the ROI to be 20 years or so.

I can thus say with the authority of experience that solar isn't the answer either.

Renewable energy that makes sense:

Now and the foreseaable future: nuclear for electricity

2030 and beyond: hydrogen fuel cell for mobility
