Back in the lead up to the 2000 election, I read a long piece about Bush/Cheney plans to instigate if not complete regional restructuring in the Middle East which had at that time a relatively long-standing Tri-Polar power structure with Iran, Iraq and Israel. The goal then of Bush/Cheney and obviously rightwing power brokers was to eliminate the "threats" and standing of Iraq and Iran so that Israel would remain the sole force and power in the region. We see that coming to some fruition now. I posted on this more than 25 years ago on this board. Some of us do not forget.
And today a "freed Israel" conducts the genocide of Palestinians with the support of Don Trump and the US government. Netinyahu (sp?) knowing that he faces serious criminal charges the minute he is out of power has been relying for a few years on the continued "war" with Palestinian people leading to the crisis in Gaza. Now, Netti sees a chance to hold power still with military conflict with Iran. History will view this as a dark period of Authoritarianism. IMHO.
