Throughout history people understood that the path to the American dream was to come to America, assimilate and become Americans. You do not accomplish that by sneaking in and living in sequestered enclaves.
I have high school students born here with parents who cannot speak the language. How do you live in a country for fifteen years and not learn the dominant language? I was in France for a week and picked up enough to communicate with most people.
