For every dollar spent on fighting climate change, many dollars of reward are reaped by improved economy and human health. The only slight lifestyle changes are all for the better- breathing cleaner air, spending less time at gas stations, less visiting loved ones in the hospital etc.

And why do the right thing even if your neighbor does not?
The answer is contained within the question.

Some people want a better world and some of us do not.
