duke has basketball, a strong academic reputation, and maybe once every 40 years has a decent football season. but not much more than that. it's a very small school and a majority of their enrollment is grad students. they're the equivalent of vandy or northwestern, and i'm not sure the SEC or B1G are too eager to add another one of those.
