has been the situation in the world economy for decades now, but fiat currencies have a very strong tendency to self-destruct at some point.
It should also be pointed out that when countries paint themselves into a corner by destroying their currencies, or in destabilizing their economies... especially when they are huge players in the world economy, that financial crises can tend towards social crises and war.
The Great Depression and the destruction of the German Mark played a huge role in setting the stage for WWII.
