HARRIS FIGHT FUND
We've sent a few fundraising emails in the lead-up to the Democratic National Committee's FEC fundraising deadline, so we thought it important to take a moment to explain what these messages mean to Democrats' success.
First, small-dollar, individual fundraising is much more important for Democrats than it is for Republicans. And if you needed any evidence of that, just look at Donald Trump's efforts to shut down ActBlue.
That is how we fund our campaigns and our work, and emails like this are the single greatest source of the donations we receive.
So why is this deadline important?
When this deadline ends, the DNC is legally required to report what they've raised. Republicans and the press will see what the DNC raised each day, and how many donations they received.
And what we need to show them is the overwhelming grassroots opposition to Trump's bill passed in the House. And we need to do it before the Senate votes, and before the House votes one last time for final passage.
So when you see Republicans potentially balk at the bill for fear of being held accountable — or when you see Democrats defeat Republicans who do vote for the bill ... it's donations in response to emails like this that make it possible.
So if stopping Trump's bill and defeating Republicans who vote for it while electing Democrats across the country is important to you, Kamala Harris is asking you to donate $5, $50 or whatever you can afford today. The amount isn't as important as the number of donations.
