I guarantee you that Tigerfever92 is wrong to say that Walker "was offered...guaranteed playing time to stay.." Does not work that way.
And Shepherd was not a middle infielder, she had been converted to catcher. When coach A announced publicly that she would be seeking a catcher in the portal and what with Abrustaco on the roster, seems like likely Shepherd did not see much chance at playing time for herself.
