This sort of article is the essence of 'normalization'.
Presented as a whimsical human interest story, it broadcasts a complete footprint on how to think about life in the United States.
It's this sort of trash that eases what eventually becomes all-out evil into the population just as surely as arsenic in the tea.
There may be 1000 positive things about the reality of this couple in real life, and yet the WSJ has reduced it all down to fear, paranoia, justification possibly for divorce, certainly for strife, encouraging the reader (at least subconsciously) to create a scene in their own home over such nonsense and then ties it all neatly into tariffs.
I look forward to a world where every single time we see an article like this the readers shun it so thoroughly that the media source, should they persist in evil, eventually go out of business.
