They couldn't care less about our border conditions.
The US already has the infrastructure in place to host the WC so there is no way to get their usual kickbacks as FIFA 'assists' the host country in getting ready.
They are attempting to use this story as a way to get some kind of concessions out of the US. I don't think they have been paying attention to who is in charge now.
