Some high scoring player, and now we are simply out those points. Yet that never ends up happening. Other players end up scoring more than they did last year and some of the new guys actually score points, and the team still ends up averaging a total roughly in line with what they did the season before.
Bates and Grill averaged 27 points combined last year, and that number is based only on games they played in, so the actual number over the full season is a little less.
It is expected that Mitch will get an extra bucket or two per game next year, so maybe three points on average. It is expected that Robinson will have a larger role in the office and could very easily score 5 or six more points next year. Mack is expected to have a notable role in the offense, so what if he scores 10 points a game? All of a sudden there’s 18 of the 27 right off the bat and as noted, 27 is not actually accurate, it’s 25 from the team perspective. Then, Pierce will probably score. Some more, Porter is expected to score some, Crews may have a bigger part in the offense and increase his scoring…..
Before you know it, the team is not averaging 57 points a game like a lot of people on this board believe will happen every year because we lost the production from some players that left.
