You have to be a bit more realistic about this. Because of his position, he HAS to say that.
Even if he doesn't believe it, he can't say publicly that he doesn't. No Power 5 AD will go on the record saying that he doesn't support any of his school's teams.
The decline of the baseball program is one worry I had about us joining the SEC.
Jon Sunvold said that the most surprising thing he noticed about the SEC after we joined, is how good baseball is and the strong following it has.
