with a monarchy it remains centralized control. He envisions him and his buddies as being at the top of the power hierarchy (monarch and lords) and everyone else, just has to go along with it because they don’t have any power today, so what does it matter if they don’t have power tomorrow.
These “technobros” have wealth and power that wealth brings, but they want more. They don’t like that the government can still regulate them, like declaring Google a monopoly. So they want to become the government. They think they are smarter than everyone else and deserve to be in charge.
Yanis Varoufakis calls it “techno-feudalism”. (Starts about 13 minutes in)
