Then acceptance that Mizzou is in a **** situation for college baseball is the only answer and the school should recognize reality instead of living in fantasyland about what it offers. I am way beyond giving two Craps! about sports participation and academics mattering in college sports. They are in the entertainment industry with paid entertainers and if that dynamic doesn’t exist in a given sport then be real and admit we are only doing certain sports to comply with Title 9 and current NCAA requirements that say you need to offer a minimum of 6 sports, per gender, to be in D1.
As such, football and MBB are your industry sports and you have wrestling, cross country, track and field, swimming and golf as your compliance sports. I’d keep those male sports because they all can share facilities with the Title 9 sports. Baseball doesn’t have a female counterpart that makes its facility needs make sense. And it is terribly expensive to be good with lil ROI in the SEC.
Maybe MU could save some bucks not having baseball and be able to drop tennis which is another doomed Mizzou sport with no male counterpart.
