I already know your position and i find it to be pedantic - the intent of the law was never, I'm quite certain, to allow everyone in knowing you couldn't handle the volume to vet the claims.

Don't have the staffing to vet asylees? you do have the option to turn them away, rather than literally court them and have US taxpayer dollars fund NGOs to get them here.
