No money changes hands. Kids parents approach the schools

to ask if there are scholarship funds available for families that meet a “means” test. At schools like CBC/DeSmet/MICDS/Rockhurst/Burroughs etc, there are discounted tuition plans funded by alums. But, never specifically directed to a single, athletic student. The vast majority of the kids under these programs are not involved in the major sports. Parents of kids in N County or City school districts will do just about anything to direct their kids to a school that sends 85-90% of their graduating seniors on to a JUCO or University institution.

Find/name the last notable high school student/athlete that transferred from a Public school to one of the aforementioned Private schools during their high school tenure. I can’t recall one.

Please don’t tell us that coaches at the more successful Public school programs aren’t pulling every possible ploy to have an exceptional talent at another school find an Aunt who might have a residence within their district.
