i'm not sure this will really change much. refs usually aren't in any real hurry to spot the ball unless it's in the final minutes of a game. but even then up-tempo offenses are usually already at the line and waiting for the ref to spot the ball then get out of the way. i'd bet most of these "injured" players are already on the ground and stopping the clock by then.

but i appreciate that they're at least recognizing the problem and trying to stop it. just think they missed the mark on execution.
