Well, Brock wasn't an AA or 1st team all-big 12

Brock won:
NCAA Special Teams Player of the Year (1997)
Second-team All-Big 12 (1997)

Sanders won:
Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award (2024)
Big 12 Offensive Player of the Year (2024)
First-team All-Big 12 (2024)

Sanders has a better resume, but likely only getting his number retired bc of his dad. I liked Brock (and what he did for the program), but it's still kind of embarrassing that we retired Brock's number for an award that isn't even given out anymore. I think MU changed the requirements for getting a number retired to avoid future embarrassment.
