The cool puzzle of all of this is that if you win, the actual authoritarians you put in charge put you on the firing lines second, after your enemies. Kill the enemies to solidify the revolution and then kill the revolutionaries that got them there because no lefty revolution can afford to have revolutionaries in their ranks.

Could have just been logical, but lean into the emotion and anger, it will probably work out either way.
