According to Loomer, Crockett physically assaulted Downs by attempting to forcibly take his phone from his hands after he questioned her about violence reportedly occurring at Tesla showrooms, which she allegedly incited.
Downs reported suffering minor injuries, specifically scratches and indentations on the top of his hand attributed to Crockett's fingernails. Loomer condemned the incident, asserting, "It’s clear elected Democrats have embraced violence against Trump supporters and members of the independent media, even in the halls of Congress."
Loomer has called upon Speaker Mike Johnson to immediately censure Rep. Crockett, citing both her alleged incitement of violence and the physical altercation in the Capitol.
