appears that they have strong views that they are not willing to examine. They expect everyone to hold those same views and can be pretty loud in expressing them. When anyone disagrees and points out flaws in their arguments they tend to melt down, grab their toys and go home.

I'm sure that isn't always the case, and there are probably reverse situations, but what I described seems to be the predominant paradigm.
