Drunk driving is morally reprehensible. Killing another person while drunk driving is morally reprehensible. Failure to convict a drunk driver who killed someone is morally reprehensible.
Being factually accurate is not morally reprehensible. It’s the starting point for any real discussion.
If he followed the law, he’s not here illegally (as you imply). Many citizens kill people while drunk driving. Morally, there’s no difference between this guy and a citizen killing someone while drunk driving, even if one instance offends your sensibilities more than the other.
He would still be in custody if not for a judge who inexplicably did not consider him a flight risk. It’s good that he is being returned to face justice.
