Many where against gay marriage because as a institution marriage is about having Children and raising children. Gay folks cannot naturally have children.....and with their high rate of mental illness... suicide, depression, verbal and physical abuse on others. The risk of them adopting Children is very high. So one might ask why Gay folks need to have a legal binding Marriage document?

There are rational reasons for some people to be against gay marriage.... also Gay Marriage allowed a lot of folks access to private insurance and the cost was passed on. Again I'm for freedom and the right of people to marry whom ever, but there was legit reasons to think Gay Marriage was a bad thing.
