and eventually realized that he was actually a turtle. He's not crazy, he's not deranged. He was misassigned a species when he was born.
Who assigns those things anyway? Shouldn't there be special training for sex, gender and species assignment? And of course, the next question, is he a male turtle, a female turtle, a hermaphrodite turtle… Or just a friggin idiot?
I imagine they will have to install turtle restrooms now in all government office buildings and government schools will have to have sports for turtles or trans turtles to be inclusive.
Should he be allowed to marry outside of his species and have children?
