Critical thinking—questioning and verifying information—is a key part of engaging one’s intelligence. If someone consistently outsources their judgment to AI without ever challenging it, they’re not exercising that skill. This doesn’t necessarily mean they’re unintelligent; it could just be laziness or a habit of overreliance. Intelligence isn’t a fixed trait—it shows up in how people approach problems. Someone might be brilliant in other areas but still defer to AI out of convenience or misplaced trust.
