fascism is marked, in large part, excessive cooperation between private entities and an intrusive government, as well as persecution of political enemies with the machine of the state. These are two things Trump is scaling back.

Trump is not cutting support for basic research, or even not promoting its progress. He is simply instituting means to reduce the bloated overhead rate.

The NSF and NIH are not responsible for the leadership of "silicon valley" tech. You are trying to falsely yoke one with the others.
