When it comes to tariffs, people talk out of both

sides of their mouth. One one hand, I hear that US tariffs are bad for the economy and tax payer (I agree with this). On the other hand, I hear that Mexican and Canadian tariffs are necessary in order to protect their own economies. How can both of those things be true at the same time? Would no tariffs for the US, Canada, and Mexico harm our neighbors? If you're Canada and Mexico I'm not sure how you can come to the table suggesting the US drop their tariffs while suggesting theirs are a necessity.
