It looks like Indian media gets it right. Trump had been warning Europe that they weren't investing nearly enough in their own defense, relying upon the US to fund everything. He ignored them in his negotiations with Russia, and they are extremely frustrated, but have no real options. They are powerless to do anything about it.
Trump humiliated them & showed the world how irrelevant they are and he's right.
