Zelensky is not the good guy here. He does not stand for democracy and he does not stand for western values. He is simply the lesser of two evils. The US IS doing him a favor by stepping in to stop this war.
Ultimately Ukraine will get screwed over, that is not in doubt. The question is how quickly can they extricate themselves from this, at what cost to them and what assurances will they have that it will not happen again.
Zelensky should thank his lucky stars that his bestie Kamala did not win, even with his campaign assistance.
