Notice how the 23 games in question still show a 'W' instead of an 'L'...

Haith was a better recruiter than Gates (and that was before NIL and the transfer portal). Haith had a higher ceiling, and a MUCH higher floor.

Good coaches don't go 0-19. Even Kim managed to win a couple in league play each year.
