Evidence emerged that Mr Trump - who you are talking about - was engaged in a coup d'etat. Evidence is followed to discover more evidence. Trump ran off with a truckload of classified documents. Running off with them and possession thereof is a crime. Negotiations were engaged. Trump and his lawyers said they returned everything - an act which does not absolve on of stealing them in the first place - and their claim was doubted and a search warrant ensued proving Trump and his team were lying. Those are crimes and were justly pursued.
