It's been happening for centuries, thousands of years.
What does cause the massive problem, is the stupidity of green goobers like yourself, who failed to do proper forest maintenance, such as removing dead brush, and controlled burns.
instead, you "protected" the environment, leading to a huge build up of combustible material, which eventually catches fires and burns thousands of acres killing everything, and then causing mudslides later.
You should be ashamed.
Instead, you'll just lie about it.
