National review is a pretty good source.
I think that people, especially conservatives tend to conflate misguided policies with intentional attempts to undermine or destroy.
I don't think I've ever defended carter's policies or his worldview. I think they were naïve, wrongheaded and often encounter productive. The difference I see between him and bronco, and between him and Whispering Joe is the commitment of the other two to do harm to our country.
I don't see that in him. The results were harmful clearly. The intent I don't think was. And I am not aware of any accusations or rumors about Personal malfeasance, graft or feathering his own nest while in office.
Feel free to set me straight if I'm missing something. But please do so with the understanding that I am forgiving his deeds that were well-intentioned for the country with the intent of the deeds that were totally different.
He was a terrible president. He was not a terrible man.
