Played football all four years of college.

There is great benefit to the extra practices. Come spring ball, there is little practical difference for OU of making or not making that 2 point conversion. Come next season, winning or losing each week will be the difference. And OU at 7-6 would not have much different a pre-season ranking than being 6-7. You are making far too much of a lower tier bowl game.
