The nuance is the constant complaint from you that Gates is only a DEI hire or to put in simpler terms, that he was hired just because he is black and zero other qualifications.

At the same time you are suddenly saying that we should have hired a D2 coach instead.

And he was able to convey this in a very simplified way

If that isn't clear enough for you then you aren't going to get it.
