Yeah, I don't know that Trump has any cards to play here. His premise for a ceasefire is faulty. Why would Russia desire one? The sanctions haven't worked. Expansion of their military, recruitment of replacements exceeding their losses, increases in industrial production, development of new weapons systems and simply their success on the battlefield indicates they don't need a ceasefire. Does Trump have anything to offer as motivation to begin peace negotiations?
