What a good season for the Tigers. 9-3 is nothing to be upset about, but I go back to the 1960s. For those who are bagging on it, just realize there are reasons for it, and I will list 3 or 4 here:
We lost and had difficulty replacing 2 excellent shutdown CBs. That negatively affected the amount of flexibility Batoon
had to pressure the opposing QB.
Losing D Robinson and T Hopper was another. They were really difficult to replace, and while we had decent replacements, they were not up to RobHop's standard.
Delgado and Foster anchored a brick wall on the blind side. I can't count the times Bryant and Green left either the B or C gaps open on that side. They were good in the running game but just serviceable in pass pro. Gave Brady happy feet. Green will be a good one. He's just young.
Brady was pretty healthy last year, but ankles and wrists are 2 really bad injury spots for QB's.
Last year we had fewer injuries and didn't get blown out by anyone. The TAMU and Bama games were nasty, but this team was a good one. I'll stick with Drink and let him roll. He's given us 20 wins in 2 years. I look forward to the next one. And yes, a bowl game is a good thing. We don't have to be in a Committee's playground to celebrate a great season.
