here's what I don't understand about those percentages

Or the percentages in really any state.

There were more than 50% of the vote counted on election day, nearly everywhere.

50% is half, or 1 out of every 2.

If you can count half on Day 1, then why is it not possible to count the other half on Day 2?

Why does it take 14+ days to count the rest?
