who makes money on franchise royalties and serving as a landlord for the land where most franchises are located.

That's been their main revenue sources for decades now.

And a franchisee has a franchise agreement which probably contains a clause / provision about how long they have to keep records of employment but Harris was talking about working at a McDonald's 40 years ago. It would be ODD if they had records of that.

In any case, who lies about working at McDonald's?
