after the Texas-OU announcement in desperately rushing to take any JV program who would join them. Cougar High? UCF (regardless of their commuter enrollment), Cincy? BYU is the only one that should’ve been considered & they have enough warts as it is.
The problem is, when stacked up & compared, a breakdown of the four remaining leagues leads anyone objectively assessing one outcome. THEY ARE NOT EQUAL. The majority of SEC & B10 programs are flagships. Meanwhile, Yormark went off asking any four year school he could find to further dilute your league. So much buyer’s remorse after what happened to the PAC & getting some decent schools to join (although they were hurting financially in a historical manner).
And their fiefdoms? Those two are simply looking out for the best interests of the schools they represent and want know part of watering their superior product down. And why would they?
